News system is designed to allow you to present news and information for users of your website or intranet.
it simplifies the task or managing such a system by creating a database of articles and automatically generates an up to date page from the database.
Automatic web page creation
The news system maintains a database of articles that are available. When the user requests a list a new web page is created
with the contents of the database in it. As the web page is created when it is requested it is always up to date.
Automatic Expiry
News articles are given a duration at the time of creation. The duration that the article
is live for can be changed to be as long or as short as you wish. If required the expiry can also be disabled.
Category Filters
Got a lot of news sections then use the category feature to separate the news into separate categories. Using the catlist system
only the files in the chosen category are listed.
HTML File creation
Got a large site that only changes occasionally? perhaps you want to moderate the news? News system can create html files
in your website that can be accessed in the normal way. You get the features as before but the database contents are written when the administrator chooses it.
This facility can also reduce the server load for large sites. These files can also be password protected using the authentication system.
Database maintenance
The News system comes complete with all the tools for maintaining the database for adding, uploading, refreshing, editing and deleting articles.
