Written in perl this script simply creates a web page from the available news articles. The page is created from a database of and the articles. As the database or articles are updated the the web page is updated too.

News articles can be sorted by category to enable departmental news in different sections. Articles can be set to expire if required. If needed an image can be added to an article too.

Adding or editing of the articles is done in a browser window using the supplied perl article editor. The editor displays a list of news article titles. Clicking on the title of the article you wish to edit opens the article in an edit window allowing the entry to be edited or deleted.

What do I need
The script requires a perl5 interpreter to run. Perl is common on most unix systems simply upload the files edit the dlconfig.pl file to suit your setup and away you go.

The script is intended for use with the apache web sever this is the reason for generating html output.

The script uses cgi to generate a html file with the download entries in it. To use simply insert the tag <jbdata> in your html file where you want the entries to appear.

The news editor requires the authentication system V1.4 to be installed to enable access to the news editor.
